Meet the Team: Jessica Kuznia

Updated: Nov 23, 2021

Jessica joined Bimdl at the start of November 2021, we caught up with her to find out a bit more about her and her time at Bimdl so far.

Welcome to Bimdl, tell us a bit about yourself

Thank you! I joined Bimdl earlier this month, having joined from the housing sector where I worked as an innovator. In my previous role I spent a lot of time looking at new emerging technology inside and outside the Housing sector, to understand how it could be used to improve the state of our properties and make the business more efficient. This gave me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the housing sector today and the blockages to innovation. Prior to joining the housing sector, I spent most of my career on the SaaS side of technology, working in the commercial sector. Coming over to Bimdl, where I get to combine these two sets of experiences, feels like the perfect fit for me.

What’s your role in the team?

I’ll be leading on all of the operational parts of the business. I see myself as a bit of a ´Jack of all trades´, helping the team get stuff done wherever it’s needed. I'll be making sure the business has all the processes in place to run efficiently. Coming from the housing sector, I also know very well the pressures that UK Housing Associations are under, and I want to make sure that as a platform we’re equipping them with the right tools to be successful.

Why did you decide to join the team at Bimdl?

We’re in a global housing crisis, existing property stock is decaying quicker than we can maintain it and we’re not building new affordable and safe homes quick enough for the people that need them. Factor in the impact that the properties we live in have on the environment, both in terms of their carbon consumption and their chemical pollution, and we can’t deny that the housing sector is currently facing an enormous social and environmental emergency. Up until now, the housing sector has not been equipped properly to be able to respond to these issues. I believe that Bimdl can be a facilitator of that change and help the housing sector manage and solve the increasing social and environmental issues they’re facing. Bimdl will disrupt the way

properties are currently handled in the sector and I’m excited to be part of that journey.

What’s been the highlight so far?

I think starting my first day by hopping on a flight to Lisbon, and attending the web summit is going to go down as one of my most memorable first days of all time.
